The doubled scores debacle

[edit]

What is the point of including the doubled team challenge scores in the average table? They aren't scored on the traditional 40-point scale as the table says totals included in it should be, and they skew the averages so that they don't reflect the actual scores given out (for example, both Ray and Sam's averages are now over 40, which is ridiculous as you can't possibly get a score over 40!). I fail to understand why they are included. Can anyone justify it? It seems just odd. Thanks.

They are included becuase the public vote will be combined with the doubled scores for the skate-off so need to be included otherwise it won't be accurate with the scoring table. --MSalmon (talk) 20:00, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If that is so then why weren't the swingathon scores for strictly included? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.205.49 (talk) 20:38, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Because they were not scored out of 40 --MSalmon (talk) 20:57, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The doubled scores weren't out of 40. They were out of 80. I feel that the average table serves as a comparison of the couples' scores throughout the series, whereas with the doubled scores, some of the averages are more than any of the scores that couple has achieved. The scoring and average charts need to be the same. Not including the doubled scores in the averages will mean the scoring chart needs to include both the individual and doubled scores (and vice versa) --MSalmon (talk) 21:03, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Why not add an extra column for doubled scores in the scoring chart (i.e. 7a and 7b), as the two are practically different scores, even for those whose scores stayed the same - Beth's pre-team challenge 34 is different in terms of leaderboard position to her post-team challenge 34. Alternatively, for those who had their scores doubled, we could include both scores using small></small, as this would show that they've had their scores doubled and not marked out of 80. These would also mean that the average chart would be more accurate to the scores handed out throughout the series, although the latter would alter the height of the doubled couples' rows. I have made some changes to the scoring chart to show who won and lost the team challenge, and also removed the doubled scores from the average chart (changed series 8 article as well). --MSalmon (talk) 13:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ITV HD

[edit]

None of the first ten episodes of this series made ITV HD's top 10 for the week in question.

And none of the remaining nine did, either - not even the final.

Therefore, every entry in the ITV HD rating column in the Ratings table is going to be "N/A". So there isn't really much point in having this column, is there?

There isn't really much point in having the Total ITV viewers column either, as each entry is going to be the exact same as the corresponding entry in the Official ITV rating column.

Unless one takes the rating for the number 10 programme in the ITV HD list each week, and says (rightly in any case) that the two episodes that week - or the final, in the case of the week ending 9 March - got under that rating.

The entries in the ITV HD rating column would then be "Under 0.781" twice for 5 January, "Under 0.767" twice for 12 January, "Under 0.777" twice for 19 January, and so on until "Under 0.726" for 9 March.

But that would probably make the table look a bit messy. Bluebird207 (talk) 20:43, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Week 8 Songs

[edit]

Some of the songs are mismatched to the performers. Hayley's Solo Skate was done to "Maybe This Time" while her and Dan's Skate was done to "Conga". Sam's Solo Skate was done to "Still Got the Blues" while his and Vicky's Skate was done to "All of Me". Both of their Solo Skates were performed before their partner Skates, hence the scoring chart having their Solo Skate scores before their partner Skate scores. Are the scores correctly matched? Do the two rows for each of those pairs just need flipped (with the music choices left in place)? Bgsu98 (Talk) 12:05, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mandy LS, please let me know if it is correct now. Bgsu98 (Talk) 13:13, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It’s correct now, thank you. Mandy LS (talk) 14:59, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
